Nicollette Sheridan began her career in show business in the soap opera “Paper Dolls,” back in 1984. She then had a small role in the NBC mystery series “Scene of the Crime” and appeared in the 1985 John Cusack film “The Sure Thing.” Nicolette Sheridan had her breakthrough role in 1986, when she was cast in another soap opera, “Knotts Landing.” It was initially a recurring role, but because of her performance she became a series regular by 1988. In this role Nicollette Sheridan won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actress: Primetime in 1991, followed by the Outstanding Heroine: Prime Time, in 1991. In the same year, she was hailed as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People” by People Magazine.
While working on the set of Knotts Landing, Nicolette Sheridan was also cast in the NBC miniseries “Lucky/Chances” as Lucky Santangelo and appeared on the 1990 Showtime movie “Deceptions.” She also joined the cast of the comedy flick “Noises Off” in 1992. After “Knotts Landing” ended in 1993, Nicollette Sheridan starred in movies such as “Spy Hard” opposite Leslie Nielson. In 1997, she starred in the Christ Farley comedy flick “Beverly Hills Ninja,” followed by the 1998 dark comedy film “Dead Husbands.” In 1999, Nicolette Sheridan also appeared in the film “Raw Nerve.”
Nicolette Sheridan made a comeback at the small screen on the season finale of the hit NBC sitcom “Will and Grace,” portraying a doctor who threatened Grace’s marriage to Leo. In 2004, Nicollette Sheridan was once again cast in another hit TV series, this time as Edie Britt in “Desperate Housewives.” She earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in 2005. She departed the series in February 2009. Her character, Edie, was killed in the series.
During her stay on ‘Desperate Housewives,’ Nicolette Sheridan also appeared in the 2007 comedy film “Code Name: The Cleaner” alongside Cedric the Entertainer. She also lent her voice to the CGI animated feature “Fly Me to the Moon” in 2008. Nicollette Sheridan will also be seen in the hit fantasy franchise, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows,” after replacing actress Emma Thompson in the last minute.
